Three years since we bought the cloth
What I wanted, a gift from you
You laughed you loved me then
We left the past with stolen money
I bought a topaz set in gold
A car that rolled
And the only land around
It was a new try at things
Sadness and joy
The gift's gone, so are the years
suspicions of mental inadequacy
are common during the first year of any marriage."
